Downgrading firmware is possible. Example: 5.30 to 5.20. Firmware updates inherently carry risk of damage to the unit and of voiding your warranty. As with all firmware upgrades, there is a risk of bricking your product if something goes wrong during the upgrade process. If your iFi product is bricked, please send it back to the dealer ...

 · Firmware 5.2 has no MQA support, but does support S/PDIF output from both Bluetooth and USB inputs as well. Allows 384 kHz PCM and DSD256 (4x DSD) replay. Firmware 5.3 (what it was supplied with), disables all S/PDIF output, but adds MQA Renderer support (you’ll need your player to do the first MQA unfold, as with things like the iFi Nano iDSD BL). Firmware 5.3C enables S/PDIF output …

Default factory firmware from 30 March 2018. iFi recommended option. MQA upgrade for ALL iFi/AMR devices except the original iDAC, iLink and AMR DP 777. See note on ‘legacy’ machines and iOne above.  · Still vague, but it looks like 5.2 'Limoncello' is the firmware I should get. But there is no explanation of the 5.2a vs 5.2b sub-versions. Or if I must install previous firmware before 5.2. Mostly for fear of the damage I would do with 5.3, before installing I'd like to hear some clarification on what the correct firmware updates will do for me.

 · At the time of purchase, mine was at firmware 5.2. I had a go with the firmware updater and downloaded the firmware for 5.3 RC2. After updating the device twice, it strangely still showed at 5.3C. Now the LED indicator stays white, regardless the audio quality that I'm throwing at it. Will update here again if I hear anything from iFi. Cheers! Share This Post post-14078169.  · As with any firmware upgrade, there is a small risk of bricking your iFi unit. If something goes wrong during the upgrade for whatever reason and your iFi iDSD nano unit is bricked, you need to contact your retailer from whom you purchased your unit to arrange for repair. Hence we do not recommend the user to upgrade or downgrade the firmware just for fun. Only do the upgrade or …
